Seven men stand smiling in front of the entrance to a school building under a metal canopy, with a sign above reading "RECEPTION" and another sign saying "MAYFIELD SCHOOL" visible in the background.

DIY SOS Down In Devon

Three men are painting a ceiling in a room. One stands on a padded platform, another stands on a ladder using a paintbrush, and the third man is on the floor, smiling and holding tools. The room has unfinished walls and natural light.
A man with a beard, wearing a black t-shirt with paint stains, smiles while holding a long yellow paint roller and painting a light-colored wall and ceiling.
Two people sit on a low wall next to a pile of colorful dismantled play equipment and debris on a paved area outside a building. A minibus and trees are visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Our Build Team Give Back

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Lounge, and we love sharing the feel-good stories that show our teams in action – including our very own take on DIY SOS!

Recently, four of our Devon-based sites, Orsino, Bruto, Costero and Visto, have been supporting a fundraising effort for Mayfield School, a specialist school in Torbay that supports children and young people with complex educational needs and disabilities.

Mayfield’s soft play area was long overdue for a revamp, so while our teams have been busy raising money, we saw a brilliant opportunity to get our build team involved too.

Last week, a few of the team headed over to lend a hand. They cleared out the old soft play, repainted the space, and got it ready for the new kit to be installed. A few of our contractors kindly donated their time, and one of our suppliers even provided a skip to help move things along.
