Our Lounge

Drago Lounge is on the edge of the Friars Walk shopping centre, facing the river by the footbridge, right in the centre of Newport. We’re blessed with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a great outdoor terrace out the front, perfect for watching the world – and its shoppers – go by. We serve a great range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten-free and vegan menus) served in a welcoming, laid-back environment.

The interiors are something to behold, with everything from tassel-y lampshades to our replica of the Newport Chartist Mural to a portrait of the young Tom Jones. Fighting for the emancipation of the working man or Pontypridd sex bomb – we’ve certainly got it covered.

At Lounge, we like to keep things laid-back. Most of the time, you can just walk in, settle down, and we'll take care of the rest. No fuss.

Brisket Birria Toastie

Spicy brisket, mature cheddar, mozzarella, chipotle and jalapenos, made with sourdough and topped with aged Italian cheese. Oh yeah, and a spicy birria gravy for dipping!
