Dusty pink Bardo Lounge sits prettily on the High Street, alongside York Stream in the redeveloped Waterside Quarter. We have lovely outdoor terraces on both sides, and big floor to ceiling windows that open up to let the outside in. Our big space inside is really welcoming, with clouds of tassel-y lampshades, constellations of star lights and chandeliers jostling for space among oil paintings and rather spectacular wallpaper. The fun continues outside, with a lovely Toucan sculpture on our wall that commemorates the famous old “Le Tucan” café that was on this site before us. Legendary, well-loved café bar? Toucan play at that game.
Separate interesting fact: Maidenhead’s famous railway bridge, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, has the flattest arches ever constructed.
