National Year Of Reading

2026 is the National Year of Reading, aiming to reconnect reading with the things you love, and fitting it into the life you live already. Lounge is happy to be supporting the National Literary Trust, inviting you to use your local Lounge as a space to champion reading!

Take a book, leave a book

Each and every Lounge has a bookshelf in it, with a great selection of titles available for all ages! You can also bring in your own books and take one of ours in return, making our selection ever-changing.

We’re prioritising our bookshelves this year, working to keep them topped up, promote our top reads and bring the joy of reading into your Lounge.

We’ll also be working hard to create partnerships with local schools, libraries and grassroots reading organisations, so reach out to your local Lounge if you can help!

Book clubs are the perfect way to get into reading, whether it’s to discover some new favourites or just meet like-minded people.

Lounge offers free hire for groups to meet, so if you’re part of a book club already, or are looking to start one up, your local Lounge could be a great place to host it!
