Corzo Lounge sits in the centre of the high street, between Priory Park and opposite Reigate Castle Gardens. Behind our handsomely restored old shopfront, there’s a really big space that stretches back across two floors beneath clouds of tassel-y lampshades and floaty moon lights. Among the gorgeous paintings you might notice our medieval hunting scene behind the bar. This is a reference to Reigate, which means ‘Roe Deer Gate’ in Old English. And our name means Roe Deer too. In Spanish. Roelé.
Separate interesting fact: The gatehouse to Reigate Castle, just up the hill opposite, isn’t really part of the castle – it’s an 18th Century folly.
