I started working for Loungers in 2010 at Ludo. I was employed as a Commis Chef but I was always given the opportunity to develop from day one. From there, I went to open Circo followed by Arcado.
The family friendly side of things immediately attracted me; as a father of three, it’s so important to have a work/life balance. It’s been perfect for me, to develop as I’ve wanted, from Sous to Head Chef – a role I cherish.
I’ve learnt an array of skills, both from a personal and a professional point of view – from meat prep, to soups, to developing staff, every day is a new challenge! I have been in Arcado Lounge in Christchurch now for five and a half years, we’ve been busier year on year, and we can see how much we’ve taken the high street by storm.
Eventually, an operations role would appeal, a chance to influence and coach others and bring through the next great Loungers!
