Slap bang in the town centre, with the stunning parish church and Corinium museum close by, Toro Lounge is an elegantly relaxed addition to the Loungers family. With room for 180 Loungers it offers relaxed, welcoming drinking and dining throughout the day and evening.
The building was once an outdoors shop that had an unfortunate accident with some electrics causing a fire. It had one benefit though, as it meant we could start afresh with the building, turning it into the perfect Lounge space. We kept the original features which we felt added some character, and we then introduced a few characters of our own - a particular favourite is Derrick, our boar’s head.
The large bar is another great feature and, if you look closely, you’ll spot original ‘Corinium’ symbols, which was the Roman name for the town. In truly Loungers style there are also a few quirky items to spot - the breeze block ceiling is pretty inventive, and see if you can find the ‘interesting’ baby picture (it usually gets a few comments).
The colourful, bright interior is continued outside on our gorgeous terrace and there’s also a ‘hidden’ terrace upstairs if you want to grab some air in a little more privacy.
Back in the day, Cirencester was renowned as a cattle market town, so we decided ‘Toro’ (Spanish for ‘bull’) was an appropriate name.
