Santo opened in August 2011 in what was once a Plumb Centre on the edge of the bustling Shirley High Street.
Santo occupies a gorgeous corner site and has a large, curvy shop front that allows light to pour in from two sides. Inside, the trading area has seating for 80 and is split between the original building and an extension to the side. Where the building was extended we retained the old exposed brick exterior wall, complete with the original street sign. She might be compact, but she’s bursting with character.
From agreeing a deal on the site to opening took an astonishing three years. Time flies and all that, but seriously.
