Porto opened in October 2004 in what was formally a travel agents. Porto is the smallest of ‘the Lounges’, but ironically is actually the busiest per square foot. Laid out over the ground floor of a two-storey building, Porto occupies an attractive corner site overlooking Victoria Park.
Fishponds is about three miles outside of Bristol city centre and as such has the feel of a small town. UWE University has a large campus close by, so the area is popular with students. Fishponds is also popular with young professionals - particularly those working at the nearby Frenchay Hospital.
Porto is named after Porto in Portugal, which is twinned with Bristol.
