A bunch of Loungers recently went for a bit of a bike ride…. when we say ‘bit’, we mean a multi day, 200 mile pedal peppered with much needed Lounge recovery stops.
Alex Kreutz, Operations Manager for Loungers, accompanied by Dougie (Head Chef at Trago), Dan (General Manager at Santo), Keiran (Chef at Verano) and Jay (Head Chef at Maritimo), travelled by bike around each of the Lounges in Alex’s area to raise money for Macmillan.
Their epic journey starting at the Santo, Trago and Maritimo Lounges in Southampton. Then they rolled on to Brighton to see the Modelo, Alcampo and Verano Lounges. Finally they reached the Caballo Lounge in Epsom… before turning around and heading back to Southampton, which made it a 200 mile round trip!
It was an exciting journey for all (including the two support team members Alexia and Emily from Trago Lounge). There were tears, bruises, cuts and scrapes, plus a few flat tyres, broken bikes and sore bums (and that was just the first day!).
Check out the Twitter page @LoungersBiking to see some hilarious (and possibly inappropriate) photos from their journey.
We’re always proud to do our bit for local communities, and we received incredible support from colleagues, regular Loungers and local businesses along the way. So we want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported and helped to raise a whopping £2,752 for Macmillan!
